I Prefer Not To Leave

Roles: Director of Photography

"I Prefer Not to Leave" is a bilingual short film in both Spanish and English, focusing on an ordinary yet profound conversation between a first-generation Korean immigrant grandmother and her first-generation Mexican immigrant housekeeper on their shared experience.

As the Director of Photography, my role was to visually bridge the language barrier between the characters and the audience through the power of visual storytelling. To achieve this, we utilized a 1/2 Pro-Mist filter and chose a 4:3 aspect ratio to evoke a sense of intimacy and nostalgia.
